Unwelcome and unexpected wild September weather for farmers in the the lower South Island

Heavy snow and high winds have taken a toll on farms through Southland since yesterday.

Wyndham sheep and dairy farmer, Dean Rabbidge, says he was concerned about pasture damage.

He says while he could still access his stock, recovery was expected to take some time.
