Napier Port is refusing to let a ship with 21 close contacts of a port worker who tested positive for Covid-19 dock

Napier Port is refusing to let a ship with 21 close contacts of a port worker who tested positive for Covid-19 dock

The Ken Rei logging ship was due in port on Sunday to load logs but has been anchored off the coast since Sunday afternoon.

Dr Ashley Bloomfield says the crew are getting daily health checks via radio and none have been showing symptoms.

He says options were being looked at to test the crew.

Ashley Bloomfield say one of the options could mean the crew will need to sail to Auckland.
