Hope that work on Auckland's SkyCity International Convention Centre will be completed in 2023

Hope that work on Auckland's SkyCity International Convention Centre will be completed in 2023

It's been a year since the massive blaze at the convention centre, which lasted 10 days.

Fletcher Construction chief executive Peter Reidy says his team is back on track to deliver the building.

He says this weekend's airbridge installation above Hobson St is a significant step in the project, connecting the convention centre to the hotels.

Over the next 12 months, Fletchers is focusing on steelwork replacement, reinstalling the roof, and completing new lifts, boilers and electrical equipment.
