Police say this week's drug bust isn't linked to a specific gang

Police say this week's drug bust isn't linked to a specific gang

Twenty six people have been arrested in a major sting in Auckland, after an investigation lasting seven months.

Over 20 thousand ecstasy pills were seized by the National Organised Crime Group, along with cash and luxury vehicles worth more than ten million dollars.

Acting Detective Inspector John Brunton says the syndicate operated outside usual distribution channels.

He says members had loose associations to gangs through family, but he doesn't see the operation as a gang network.
