Carol Arthur has died aged 85
The 'Blazing Saddles' actress has passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease

At the time of her passing, Carol was living at Mary Pickford House at the Motion Picture & Television Fund home in Woodland Hills, her family confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mel Brooks - who directed Carol in a number of movies including 'Silent Movie', 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights' and 'Dracula: Dead and Loving It' - said in a statement: "She was my lifelong friend, and she will be missed."
And in a Twitter message, he added: "Sad to hear of Carol Arthur’s passing. She was so great in Blazing Saddles as Harriett Johnson the over-the-top, outspoken schoolmarm. She will be missed."
Carol's children also took to social media to pay tribute to their mom.
David DeLuise wrote: "Thank you for being the best mom in the world. You are free now. I will miss you and love you forever ... Give Dad a big hug and a kiss from me ... Thank you for your wisdom and unconditional love. And thank you for giving your gift. We were all so Lucky and blessed to have you. I Love you (sic)"
Carol had a huge film career, including starring in the likes of 'The World's Greatest Lover', 'Hot Stuff', 'The Princess and the Dwarf' and ' Driving Me Crazy' as well as 'The Godson' and 'Between the Sheets'.
