The wild weather hitting the lower North Island and the upper South Island won't subside until Tuesday

MetService meteorologist Andy Best says the capital is going to experience some strong winds -- and the wet weather will stick around.

He says heavy rain is expected to develop tomorrow and southerly's in Wellington on Tuesday could gust up to 100-kilometres-per-hour
