COVID-19 has put the kibosh on any potential pay rise for MPs

They haven't had one since mid-2017 - and the Remuneration Authority's decided there'll be none for the next three years.
Among the factors it had to take into consideration were economic conditions - which are highly uncertain due to COVID-19.
A six-month 20-percent pay cut for Ministers, and 10-percent cut for MPs - taken as a nod to Kiwis' COVID-19 hardships - will end in January.
