Complaints about young Maori being photographed by Police in the Wairarapa will be referred to the Independent Police Conduct Authority

Complaints about young Maori being photographed by Police in the Wairarapa will be referred to the Independent Police Conduct Authority

The Authority contacted Police on Monday following reports about the incidences by RNZ.

No complaints have yet been lodged, but a Memorandum of Understanding with Police means the cases will be referred away from Police.

The Authority will determine the form of its investigation when a referral is received.
