Australia's signed the final agreement with pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and BioNTech for 10-million doses of their Covid-19 vaccine

Australia's signed the final agreement with pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and BioNTech for 10-million doses of their Covid-19 vaccine

The deal was struck on Christmas Eve and would signal a roll-out of the vaccine from March 2021.

New Zealand has secured 1.5-million doses from the same group.

Each person will need two doses -- about a month apart.

Here -- border, MIQ, and frontline Covid-19 healthcare workers and their household contacts will be the first to access a vaccine in the second quarter of 2021.

The rest of the general public can be vaccinated throughout the second half of next year -- from July at the earliest.
