Andrew Little accepts there's been racist behaviour in the health system

Andrew Little accepts there's been racist behaviour in the health system

It comes as the Government readies itself to roll out recommendations from the mega Health and Disability System review.

That includes slashing the number of DHBs, a new agency called Health NZ, and creating a Maori Health Authority.

New Health Minister Little told Newstalk ZB a lot of work goes into ensuring people are culturally aware - but he's heard accounts that are unacceptable.

He says we need a system that's welcoming and open to all those who call on its services.
