Australian cricket coach Justin Langer is calling for his captain Tim Paine to be cut some slack after his controversial third test performance against India

Australian cricket coach Justin Langer is calling for his captain Tim Paine to be cut some slack after his controversial third test performance against India

Paine was targeted after mocking India's Ravichandran Ashwin, showing dissent towards the umpire and dropping three catches.

However, Langer points out Paine has helped turn Australia's image around after the 2018 Cape Town cheating scandal and believes he shouldn't be torn down so quickly.

After a night of reflection, Paine apologised for his conduct ahead of the fourth test starting Friday at the Gabba.
