Legendary rugby league coach Wayne Bennett has stepped down from his role as Queensland State of Origin coach

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The dubbed super coach has elected to focus on his primary job as coach of South Sydney in the NRL.

Bennett led the Maroons to an historic upset victory over New South Wales in the 2020.

The 2-1 series win is considered one of the greatest ever, given the 71-year-old was forced to blood 14 debutants due to injuries.
