The Department of Internal Affairs is satisfied with the sentence dished out to a man who tried to buy a child online to sexually abuse

The Department of Internal Affairs is satisfied with the sentence dished out to a man who tried to buy a child online to sexually abuse

Aaron Hutton has been jailed for five years for attempting to enter into a deal involving the sexual exploitation of a child, and possessing more than 400 objectionable images.

Digital Safety deputy director, John Michael, says the case highlights the serious nature of this type of offending.

He says it sends a really clear message to other offenders that might think to go down a similar path , that they'll get caught - and when they do, there will be serious consequences.
