The Blues hooker has called time on his career at age 34, due to medical advice.
Parsons didn't play last year's Mitre10 Cup after taking a head knock during the Blues season.
He says he's been fortunate to represent the Blues and Harbour more than 100 times each and play two tests for the All Blacks.
Parsons has been a regular on TV and radio - which he says he looks forward to exploring more.
