Kerry Katona always felt like a “failure in love”

The former Atomic Kitten singer – who has five children from her three previous marriages – admitted she felt “panicky” when she first started dating now-fiancé Ryan Mahoney because she was convinced things wouldn’t work out between them, but now she wants people to know she’s a good example that it’s “never too late” to find love

Kerry – who has just launched her own dating app, Marnii – said: “I always felt like a failure in love and like I didn’t belong in a relationship because they never worked out.

“Even when I first got with Ryan, I got panicky about it.

“But I want everyone who feels like they’re on their own to know that it’s never too late. Never give up on love, even if you’re just looking for a short-term thing.

“So all you singletons, go and join Marnii!”

The 40-year-old star doesn’t have any regrets about her past but she’d known she “deserved to be loved”.

Writing in her latest New! magazine column, she said: “If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be that you deserve to be loved.

“I can’t change anything else that I’ve done in the past, and I don’t regret anything, but I would have wanted my younger self to know that I can be loved.

“I’ve struggled with that from childhood. I wanted to be loved so desperately that the lengths I went to for it were wrong.

“But these things happen, and I’m now on the path I’m supposed to be on.”

Kerry has been open about her struggles with bipolar disorder, and though her life “couldn’t be better” at the moment, she still has tough days.

She said: “I felt c*** and spent the whole day in bed. I have no reason to be down, my life couldn’t be better.

“Overall, my life is where I’ve always wanted it to be, but that doesn’t stop people having mental health struggles.”
