There'll be increased security at March 15 commemorations

There'll be increased security at March 15 commemorations

A 27-year-old man has been charged with threatening to kill after allegedly posting threats online about the Linwood Islamic Centre and Al Noor Mosque.

Police executed search warrants at Christchurch properties in St Albans and Linwood last night.

Two people were arrested but one was released.

Police say they expect more charges will be laid against the 27-year-old, but they're not seeking anyone else.

Canterbury District Commander Superintendent John Price says they'll be ready to respond to anything on March 15.

He says they will have visible staff, both at the mosques and at the event -- with Police clearly visible out on the streets.
