WorkSafe's laid charges after a Hamilton teenager drowned on a school trip at Waihi Beach

WorkSafe's laid charges after a Hamilton teenager drowned on a school trip at Waihi Beach

17-year-old Jaden Chhayrann was swept out to sea in a rip - while swimming on a Melville High School geography trip in February last year.

A teacher tried to rescue him but failed, and his body was found a couple of weeks later.

WorkSafe wouldn't confirm who has been charged or what charges they face.
