Four out of five people who ask for a managed isolation fee waiver are getting their quarantine stay free, or at a cut price

Figures covering the period up to 14th of this month show the Government has accepted 3586 fee waiver requests.

    Only 940 have been rejected.

Waivers can be granted to New Zealanders who left the country before August 2020, and planned on staying at least three months.

They can also be given for compassionate reasons or in cases of financial hardship.

The Government is currently chasing up more than 3 million dollars in overdue MIQ fees.
