The delay to Ironman New Zealand may prove helpful for 2017 champion Braden Currie

The delay to Ironman New Zealand may prove helpful for 2017 champion Braden Currie

The race was scheduled for March 6, but postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Competitors were tapering but ended up facing another three weeks of high volume training while trying to stay healthy.

Currie says he struggled to recover from his second at February's half-distance race in Wanaka, so the buffer has been beneficial.
