Swimmer Zac Reid could add a second event to his repertoire at the Tokyo Olympics

Swimmer Zac Reid could add a second event to his repertoire at the Tokyo Olympics

Reid's achieved the Olympic qualifying standard for the 800-metre freestyle and fell less than a second short of the 400-metre qualifying time.

He'll have another opportunity in a last chance meet next month.

Swimming New Zealand targeted athlete and coach manager Gary Francis says being so close and already competing in another event could work in Reid's favour.
