The retail sector has the least business confidence

The economic research institute's latest Quarterly Survey of Business Opinion shows a modest improvement in confidence overall for the first three months of 2021.

But a net 38 per cent in retail expect economic deterioration in coming months.

Principal economist Christina Leung says supply chain disruption is affecting confidence.

She says retailers are reporting difficulty in sourcing stock, which is leading to cost pressures.
