The mum of sacked Cronulla coach John Morris has hit out at the club, claiming her son doesn't understand why he can't coach out the NRL season

The Sharks have opted for Craig Fitzgibbon to take over from next season despite Morris making the finals in both his seasons at the helm.

Assistant Josh Hannay will take over as a caretaker when players return to training tomorrow.

Sharyn Morris says her heart breaks for her son, who was dedicated and loyal and she is disgusted he was treated so badly by the board.

Morris senior says John was left asking why and the board couldn't answer him.
