The New Zealand captain has been recovering from a tear in his left elbow tendon, which kept him out of the recent Bangladesh limited overs series.
He's back practising at full capacity and can adapt to test mode, if required.
Meanwhile, back at Sunrisers HQ, Williamson and franchise skipper David Warner have joined spinner Rashid Khan for some Ramadan moral support, fasting between dawn and dusk, as per the Islamic custom.
If Sunrisers fail to make the finals, Williamson will have enough time to get to England for the first test at Lord's starting June 2, after 10 days' quarantine.
That rule remains in place at this stage for elite sportspeople, despite India being added to the UK's red-list of Covid-19-infected countries.
