    Fire crews are responding to a house fire in the Otago town of Waitati


    About 25 fire fighters are at the scene of a blaze on Double Hill Road.

    They've been there since around 5.15 this morning..

    The single occupant of the house is uninjured.

    Meanwhile a small crew remains at a haystack fire near Ashburton.

    The fire is well under control, with firefighters monitoring the last of the burn.
