A push for statistics for crime against disabled people to be updated

It follows an assault on a man in a mobility scooter in Whangarei.
He was bashed unconscious by two youths wielding planks of wood
The latest data for disabled victims was released by Stats NZ in 2013.
It showed that disabled people were 4 times more likely to be assaulted than non disabled people.
CCS Disability Action spokesperson Debbie Ward says it would be interesting to see what fresh data reveals.
