    Police analysis is giving an insight into what motivates drivers to flee


    Investigation's showed most have extensive criminal histories - and the majority are also unlicensed.

    Common charges after a pursuit include dangerous driving, licence breaches and vehicle theft.

    Road Policing Director, Superintendent Steve Greally , says it's useful data.

    He says understanding what motivates people gives police a good platform to learn and develop other procedures.
