    Alpecin Fenix rider Tim Merlier has sprinted to victory on the 179-kilometre stage two on cycling's Giro d'Italia


    Kiwi Patrick Bevin finished 39th - safely in the peloton - while George Bennett also stayed clear of trouble, finishing 103rd.

    Ineos Grenadiers rider Filippo Ganna leads the general classification with Bennett 44 seconds back in 52nd, and Bevin three seconds further adrift in 66th.
