Auckland Council expects the impact of Covid-19 to linger for another three years

Auckland Council expects the impact of Covid-19 to linger for another three years

Mayor Phil Goff has released the council's Recovery Budget, which will cost Aucklanders nearly 32-billion dollars over the next 10 years.

It will be voted on next week.

Finance and Performance Committee chair, Desley Simpson, says the council needs to continue investing in Auckland, despite everything that's happened, to ensure the city recovers.

She says if we stop that investment, infrastructure fails and so does the city.
