A challenging winter may be looming for farmers in the South Island

A challenging winter may be looming for farmers in the South Island

Winter conditions have arrived early this week, with snow falling in areas throughout the lower south across Monday and Tuesday.

South Otago sheep farmer Logan Wallace says the early onset will be creating anxiety among farmers in his area.

He says a dry autumn means many will not have the feed reserves required for colder weather.
