Wellington bus drivers are about to make a crucial decision on the future of their employment

Wellington bus drivers are about to make a crucial decision on the future of their employment

More than 200 drivers are attending a union meeting to vote on NZ Bus's latest pay offer.

The deal would see drivers' base wage rate increased, but remove some beneficial work conditions.

NZ Bus is also offering one-off cash payments of up to 10 thousand dollars if they accept the agreement.

It's expected the majority of drivers will reject it.

Tramways Union Secretary Kevin O'Sullivan says drivers won't be paid off to accept an agreement that makes things worse in the long run.
