The ODT reports the Parole Board has decided Aleisha Dawson was safe to be released last month, under conditions including living in Rotorua.
She was sentenced to more than two years in jail - after she admitted to being an accessory to the killing of Brent Bacon in 2019.
Dawson's husband, John Collins, was this month jailed for life with a minimum 17 years non-parole period.
The Parole Board heard Dawson had completed a group-based programme and an intensive drug-and-alcohol course behind bars.
