The Pike River families have started their next legal battle

22 families have launched a judicial review calling for an overturn of the decision not to go further into the mine.

Justice Minister Andrew Little made the decision, and the families will need to prove that no reasonable minister could have made that call.

Retired law professor Bill Hodge says it's unlikely.
