A fire investigator will be heading to the scene of a large house fire in Balclutha

A fire investigator will be heading to the scene of a large house fire in Balclutha

The blaze on Hospital Road broke out just before 2.30am.

With the property well alight, three fire engines were used to fight the flames.

Fire and Emergency shift manager, Simon Lyford , has no idea what caused it yet.

He says at this stage it isn't being treated as suspicious.

No one was inside the house at the time.
