    Two people will appear in court today after a person was killed in Whangarei at the weekend


    Police were called to a disorder incident on Bank Street just before midnight on Saturday.

    A person received critical injuries and was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.

    A 20-year-old will appear in the Whangarei District Court today, charged with murder.

    A 17-year-old has also been charged with injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and will appear in the Whangarei Youth Court today.

    Police are not ruling out further arrests.
