A cold front is set to hit the country

Rain's been falling across New Zealand today, and temperatures are expected to drop in coming days.

Christchurch and Dunedin are expected to only reach a high of 8 degrees, -16 is forecast in Auckland, and 10 in Wellington.

But conditions much further south - in Antarctica - bring a new perspective,.

It's seen near record-breaking temperatures this week, including a bone-aching minus 81.7 degrees at Dome Fuji Station.
