    A special project, looking into the minds of violent criminals, has a goal of preventing jail assaults - as they rise across the country


    Corrections Minister Kelvin Davis says this afternoon it's important work.

    He says the impact of assaults on prison guards and their family can't be downplayed.

    Davis says more than 80 per cent of prisoners have violent offending convictions.
