A 20-year-old man's been arrested in relation to a serious attack in Wellington's CBD last weekend

25 June 2021

Police were called to reports of a group of people fighting in the New World Chaffers carpark, off Wakefield Street, on June 19.

One victim needed surgery and four men were taken into custody at the time.

The latest man to be arrested is due to appear in the Wellington District Court on June 29, charged with wounding with reckless disregard.

Police say everyone has a right to be and feel safe in the city's entertainment precinct, and behaviour putting others at risk won't be tolerated.
