A new group of Covid-19 vaccinators will have plenty of training behind them, before they put needle to skin

The Government's changed regulations to expand the workforce to administer Covid vaccines.

Now people like retired nurses and health professionals trained overseas can be vaccinators.

Immunisation Advisory Centre manager Loretta Roberts says they'll have to undergo a training programme, but will also bring their health backgrounds.

She says that'll help them feel confident and communicate with the people they're vaccinating -- and they'll also have the support and supervision of their workplace.
