Half a million Kiwis will fly these school holidays

Those are Air New Zealand numbers, with seven and a half thousand flights across its domestic network this July.

That's 56 per cent more than this time last year.

Queenstown's the hottest destination for holidaymakers, with more than 100-thousand seats booked to and from the region.

Auckland Airport is expecting around 28-thousand domestic travellers today -- making it the busiest day since Covid-19 hit.

General Manager Aeronautical Commercial Scott Tasker says the rest of July's looking bright.

He says the airport's forecasting about 90 per cent pre-Covid passenger volumes, through the domestic terminal for the month.
