The Government may have to get savvy -- to find a way to open more MIQ facilities

Government briefing documents -- released under the Official Information Act -- show officials have been considering long-term MIQ facilities.

However, the facilities may not have enough healthcare workers and security staff to operate.

Nurses Organisation Industrial Services Manager Glenda Alexander says there needs to be solutions to fix the nurses shortage.

She says the Government could look at introducing an MIQ recruitment campaign for nurses.
