Online applications for the scheme are now open for businesses and self-employed people significantly affected by the level four lockdown.

Businesses need to, or must expect to, see a 40 per cent decline in revenue as a result of the alert level move.

They must also meet other eligibility criteria.

By yesterday afternoon more than 47-thousand businesses and sole traders had applied for the subsidy.
