More Covid-19 cases are expected today as the Delta outbreak continues to grow

More Covid-19 cases are expected today as the Delta outbreak continues to grow

The Government yesterday reported 21 more community infections - bringing the cluster up to 51 cases.

While 45 are in Auckland, the remaining six appeared in Wellington.

Work is still underway to link 19 cases in the cluster, but there's a strong assumption mot are connected.

Meanwhile, reports of cases not yet confirmed by the Health Ministry were popping up yesterday evening.

Auckland's Royal Oak Intermediate says one of its bus drivers has Covid-19.

The case had driven children while unwell on Friday August 13, Monday 16 and Tuesday 17.

An email from Sky TV's chief people and operations officer also reveals one of its staff has the virus.

It says the person worked at their Mount Wellington office while potentially infectious earlier this week.

Meanwhile, a staff member at SkyCity Casino has tested positive.

In an email to staff, the casino says it was advised yesterday afternoon a staff member who was working in the level 3 Platinum Gaming Room between 8.30pm on Friday 13 August and 6am on Saturday 14 August is a confirmed case.

SkyCity Casino was already a location of interest.

Two more Auckland schools have also alerted their communities to cases.

A student at Western Springs College was understood to be in class while possibly infectious on Tuesday.

While a staff member at Pukekohe High School has also tested positive.
