Two sin binnings were costly for the Broncos - with prop Tom Flegler sent to the bin for 10 minutes in the first half.
The Broncos' second-half surge then stuttered when Brendan Piakura was binned and reported just six minutes into his debut for a late hit on influential halfback Braydon Trindall.
Meanwhile Parramatta have catapulted back into top four contention after they crashed Melbourne's party, ending their shot at a record streak with a 22-10 win in Brisbane.
It ruined Melbourne's chance to surpass the Jack Gibson coached 1975 Eastern Suburbs team's all time record of 19 consecutive victories.
