Queenstown councillors have approved a lower than expected rates increase
3 September 2021
Councillors have met in a Zoom meeting - under the Covid-clampdown - to rubber-stamp a 4.38 percent rise.
Finance, Legal and Regulatory manager Stewart Burns says the figure's lower due to better than forecasted growth across the district.
He says the rates collection's increased as a result of property values rising from more new buildings and sub-divisions.
