A man has been warned and fined for twice trying to cross Auckland's southern border

Police say he was turned around at Mercer yesterday, heading to Raglan - then stopped at a different checkpoint when he tried an alternative route.

Meanwhile, a woman was caught yesterday after driving through the Mercer checkpoint without stopping.

When police stopped her a short distance away, she was found to be a suspended driver and fined.
