Waikato DHB is asking communities around Kaiaua, Whakatiwai and Mangatangi to take extra precautions

Waikato DHB is asking communities around Kaiaua, Whakatiwai and Mangatangi to take extra precautions

Three household contacts of a remand prisoner from Auckland's Mt Eden Prison who tested positive, now also have the virus.

Two were children who attended Mangatangi School, which is considered an exposure site on Wednesday and Thursday last week.

People there are considered close contacts and must self-isolate and get tested.

Services across the DHB hospitals are being reduced to acute, urgent and cancer care from tomorrow.

It will be reviewed once the DHB has a better understanding of community transmission.
