    Wellington Phoenix coach Ufuk Talay is rejecting the notion the length of contract dished out was the reason for Steven Taylor's sudden retirement


    Taylor suggested as much when he called it quits earlier this week, suggesting he was disappointed not to be offered a two year contract for this season and next.

    Talay says Taylor never raised that with him at all.



    And the Perth Glory have announced the signing of former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge.
