    Two trapped people have been freed by emergency services from a car in Ashburton


    They are now being seen by St John.

    Emergency services were called to the two-car crash on State Highway 1 near Wilkin Street just before midday.

    Waka Kotahi says traffic is starting to back up and motorists should expect delays.
