Missing Christchurch man Richard Hinkley was last heard from six years ago

Missing Christchurch man Richard Hinkley was last heard from six years ago

His uncle called the 49-year-old on Christmas morning, 2015.

His uncle said Hinkley sounded tense during the short conversation.

He said he'd call back when he was more awake - but didn't.

Speaking on TVNZ's Cold Case, Detective Sergeant Michael Freeman said Kainga Ora staff contacted police in February after a neighbour said they hadn't seen Hinkley for weeks.

Police found no signs of any break-in or misadventure at his flat.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
