Knees and shoulders topped the list of injuries for skiers and snowboarders respectively last winter

Knees and shoulders topped the list of injuries for skiers and snowboarders respectively last winter

ACC data shows new claims for snow sports injuries to the end of November, were down on previous years.

Skiers made 17 hundred new claims for knee injuries, and 663 snowboarders made the call over shoulder injuries.

Injury Prevention Programme Lead, James Whitaker, says more than 90 percent of injuries are preventable.

He says if we step back, think about it and do things the smart way, we can avoid injuries and do the things we love all summer long and be fit for next winter.
